The Next Element of Hip Hop

Recently, I came across a few comments from rap fans trying to start the anti-skateboarding agenda. Saying skateboarding isn't Hip Hop and has no place in the genre/lifestyle. Making something out of nothing. What's more Hip Hop then that. First of all, skateboarding is a little bit of everything but Hip Hop has played a major roll in the evolution of skating. Whether it's skid row, the barrio or the block, skateboarding has more in common with street culture then half of things deemed acceptable in Hip Hop. Second, do you know how many real Hip Hop heads skate or skated? A lot! Third, they haven't seen the movie "Kids" or the Zoo York Mixtape, have they? Honestly, I think Hip Hop use to influence some people who skated but now people who skate (or act like they do) influence Hip Hop. Skateboarding has always been the next element of Hip Hop to me.
