Shred Fest Recap
Little by little, the world seems to be loosing its grip on reality. As a society we seem to be loosing focus on whats important in life. Family. Community. We're such a tech driven society and are totally missing the boat on how to truly enjoy life. Skateboarding is our family. Its our community. SHREDFEST in downtown Waukegan was the event we played this past weekend and it was the perfect definition of "Skate community". Back in the 80's and 90's Waukegan was known for its great spots and good "locals" scene. As our generation got older and slowly moved away, I thought the skate scene died with it. Instead, there's a whole new band of colorful little rippers holding it down for the Wauk. It was beautiful! Everyone from 6 to 60 came out to shred the Water Street course and partake in the festivities! I saw friends who I skated with 25 years ago out the with their little rippers keepin' the dream alive. This was the second time we've gotten to rock at the fest. Shout out to Matt and the FASTPLANTS for showing us an awesome time as usual. WATER STREET GALLERY was full and flowin' with deck art from all around. Big ups to Will Gardner. Boards, Beer, BBQ and family. That's all we needed to rock the spot. I really wanna thank all the people who helped out and supported. Cassandra, UPRISE, BLUETOWN, CHARACTER, BEERCITY, AWH, Soma, Tim, Dave Motley and anybody who I missed. Much more to come. Live life and always be grateful, Photo By: Ryan Anthony Ambrose
